-Some people wonder where those who have declared themselves independent artists can show their colors.
-Talent is often not sufficient cause to provide an independent artist with a quality showcase in an easily accessible venue open to any interested viewer at any time at little cost or obligation. This is no longer the insurmountable cause of every working artist.
-Christian Valle is the completely egalitarian, independent artist who has successfully designed and fashioned the ideal cyber-gallery at theindependentartist.org. This website is now continuously showing all art forms to anyone willing to navigate the worldwide web. Artists talented enough to illustrate their efforts in any genre they choose are inducted into a forum that celebrates freedom of expression.
-This website is not limited to professionals, amateurs, fully able, disabled or any other division or dissembling of the artistic community. Valle eschews any interest in acting as a critic.
-Christian Valle declares matter of factly, “I am an artist.” He said that he creates art to express his emotions with a passion that is too vivid for mere conversation and that his artwork allows him to engender an emotional expression in the viewer. According to Valle, he aspires to ignite the higher ambitions and understanding of all who view his art.
-Among the cadre of diverse artists and modes of expression currently available for viewing on the Independent Artist website are acrylics, oil paintings, graphite sketches and drawings, in addition to a wide variety of watercolors by Valle. The rooms reserved for pastel artists and photographers are avidly recruiting practitioners desiring this form of exhibition.
-Every artist included within the website is given the opportunity to discuss their background and artistic influences, thus affording the visitor a chance to enjoy not only the art but in addition, the impetus behind each of the artists. Links are available on the website to facilitate further contact with the artists and their work.
-Valle first discovered art as a means of expression when he was still a child. Since first winning an art “duel” with his older brother, he has never abandoned the many modes, techniques and media that armed him for expression of emotional concerns and commitments. His enjoyment and facility at expressing himself through art has grown over time. Art does not only serve the artist’s needs. Art reaches the pinnacle of success when it not only permits the artist to express himself completely, but it reflects an insight into a spectator’s psyche.
-On one occasion, Valle achieved this transmission of communication with a painting of a chimp. A man insisted on buying it immediately. In the course of the transaction, the buyer confided in the artist that he completely identified with the chimp in the painting, because the chimp expressed the buyer’s innermost emotions about his career as a clown.
-When not indulging his artistic passions or perfecting the aims of his Independent Artist website, Valle is amply engaged in the efforts of the New York City Mayor’s Office for the Disabled. He serves as a member of the squad of mayoral assistants who step up to defend the rights and needs of the disabled community.
-Valle has been part of this community since 1990, when a diving accident in shallow water at a pool caused the compression of his C6 and C7 vertebrae. He has developed a daily regime of weight lifting and stretching to maintain the muscle tone and flexibility he finds necessary to facilitate effective mobility in his wheelchair.
