Bruce Blower, director of Handicapped Services for Suffolk County, tries out the new accessible ballot marking device that will be available for all voters with disabilities at every polling place in New York state on Election Day, Nov. 4. Disabled voters can go to the polls and vote on these machines even if they have absentee ballots at home. Assistance will be available at polling places. Hand control, shown in inset, is available. Blind, deaf and mobility-impaired voters can use these ballot-marking devices and the machines even have a sip-puff function.

This voting machine was demonstrated at the recent Accessible Vans and Mobility/j. bussani, inc., two-day open house that was host to a number of agencies and vendors.
